I saw this little fella today nesting in our Garden. It`s a woodpecker. Its been there very still for the last few days I reckon laying eggs and quietly humming to itself. I wonder how long it takes before the little woody bambinos appear!.I`ll keep you posted.

Newlyn Blossom and Penzance Flowers

I have been working on a new set of prints today which look fabolous. I`m off to two galleries tomorow to see if they like them. These are my best prints yet whith great quality with my new software.Here is one of them

Newlyn Sardines

I have to go to Bristol tomorow and it`s a 4 hr drive each way. I will start painting again on Wednesday so it`ll be a few days before new work evolves.So here is a print of one of the pictures that came from the earlier pic. This so far has been my most popular Cornish Print

As there really isn`t anything to show you thats new here`s a pick of Newlyn I painted 6 months ago. I hated it at the time and put it away. I like it now because it gave birth to a series of good paintings from the same subject matter.

Barcelonetta2

I`ve been working on this for 3 days now and finally finished its a lighter and more detailed version of an old favourite of mine Barcelonetta.

Have been away with the Family so a little hard to get started again. Sold two pictures and three Prints to a lovely couple which made the holiday even sweeter.This is Lorraine in happy mood .

Praa Sands

You can tell it`s half term when I don`t get any work done. Spent the afternoon on Praa Sands watching my son surf.

Montego Bay

Its such a wet day I thought I would post a nice piccy of Montego Bay. Lorraine and I went there when we first met .It was GORRRRRRRGEOUS.

Porthcurno

Spent the morning at an Easter Baptism ,very moving and the afternoon on Porthcurno beach which is between us and Lands End on the south side of the peninsula.Just above to the right of the cliff lies the Minack Theatre which is a theatre carved in stone . This is the spot were Telegraph cables were first laid accross the oceans to the Empire right under the sea in 1800 and something.The cables and still there to this day ( although a little rusty) right by the Lifeguard hut.Half the accents on the beach seemed to be German. We have a large German tourist count here also Americans and Londoners who seem to be rather touchy about the lack of service.!!I have prepared a 30x40 inch canvas as I am in the mood for a large one as the nun said to the vicar.I shall start preparing in fits and starts over the next couple of days.

Barcelona

We were in Barcelona last September. I`ve been before and went back to Barcelonetta which is the beach front area where the fishing quarter is.

Scillonian 111

The Scillonian is stranded in the Penzance Docks as the weather has changed for the worst. We went to the Scillies last year it was very quite and very beautiful .Were hoping to go again this year.

Towens and Godrevy Lighthouse

Hayle Towens to St Ives

Hayle is such a wonderful exspansive landscape. This is Where th artist John Miller did his blue paintings. I think I`ll do one with some flowers in it.

Cant really get in and work till thursday and even then it`ll be sparodic as The Children are on half term .Pink is such a nancy colour some people say .Well thats one reason to make it even pinker.Don`t you think.Its knowhere near finished I have to nput in the petals etc.

experiment

This is an experiment painting really .I wanted to see if I could paint the Camelia in our front Garden. I`m posting it as this is what I did today. I think I can do better and I am going to try to improve it or have another go.

Day 4 12am

Still in progress. Has gone very Naive. Which I know can be hard to sell. Still this sort of work does well as cards and I love the freeness it gives me it kinda cheers me up. It`s of Marrazion and St Michaels Mount and reminds me of the carefree days we spend as a family on the beach. They do great Cornish Pasties in Marrazion and there are some good Art Galleries if you fancy a break. The Pub is good too!

Penzance Blossom

While I have been working on the previous picture I have also been busy working on this one on the side. Its great to do this because you don`t feel under pressure.As there is lots of Blossom out that`s were it comes from.

Ok its 4.30 and I have this . I might be able to build on this .The canvas won`t take much more though.I am pushing.

Still working on this Italian job. Its a welcome break from the cool Cornish colours.I think I just have to get this out of my system.

Day 2 lunchtime

As you can see there is a rebellion going on .Swept the old away and gone into this very Fauvist Italian Landscape thing in an effort to break out of the Drab Grey and find whats bubbling up inside.
