Thats it for today. I can`t wait to start this in the morning.
I was driving home from Morrisons and caught a glimpse of Penzance I had not noticed and thought ah ah! There is a painting. Keeping it neutral

Monday 30 July 2012

It does feel like I am spending an awfully long time on something I am not sure about. Although it is to replace something lost. I miss the muted tones as I can see where I am going. But the flip of that is it is a nice change.
Sometimes I wonder if the previous version was better. You make decisions and you have to stick with them.. Day 2

Sunday 29 July 2012

Just looked at the clock and it`s 4 o clock. Cant believe the time has gone so fast. I was up at 7 this morning. OK need a swim now so here is end of day Marrakech
Starting a new Marrakech painting today to replace the one I sold and wish I hadn`t. Needed the money and there is a gaping hole in my wall that looks empty.

Saturday 28 July 2012

Well its coming on. bit by bit day by day. Working on the slab of Grey that is the building in the middle to make it more interesting next and then the building on the left.....

Friday 27 July 2012

One o clock.  People coming soon................ Max 3

This is The Clock Tower or the Lloyd's building that has a statue of Humphrey Davy at the front and dominates top of the town. Its a very impressive building  . St Michael's Mount can be seen in the distant with a bit of artistic licence. Its all very grey but this is how it is in Cornwall.
Something a little lighter in tone. Day 2

Tuesday 24 July 2012

I imagine a lot of you are getting fed up with these darker ones or even left all together. But I can see something and persisting. This is my 3rd day on this. I like painting local scenes. There is something right about it at the moment and in these times.

Tuesday 17 July 2012

I am doing another Penzance dark picture./ Its not right yet I know but I keep in going.

Monday 9 July 2012

Can I introduce you to Market House Gallery in Marazion. They really are great. The work they have is top class. This is my main gallery in Cornwall and I always concentrate on giving them the best of my work except for Thompson Gallery in Alderburgh.
I sent them the Penzance Lloyds building picture to see if they liked it . I was worried that it was to grim. I liked it. That's why I painted it and I cant explain that.I just do and they liked it too except for the clock which in real life is positioned centre instead of right as I have it. I did this because when I sketched this I was standing to the left and that's were the clock was but when I came to paint it I changed the angle.

So I have re positioned it Also the picture is slightly skew wiff. . It isn`t in real life .

For those of you who follow this blog and think I have slipped into some kind of depression with all these grim paintings something a little more colourful. Well a little more.....I started this last week and am still working on it.

Sunday 8 July 2012

Have a studio full of darker paintings. These are all of local scenes and for a local market. I`m am sure it won`t last long before some colour comes back. Oh and thers Tommy the cat shuffling out the door.

Friday 6 July 2012

Wednesday 4 July 2012

Hello! Ive been away in London and the Isle of White. Had a lovely break.
Went to London with my daughter Alana to see the RA and to Desiguil our favourite Brand in Regent street to buy stuff.

Firstly what a joy to go with my 13ry old bright articulate daughter. And how wonderful that I made it in one piece.
I really enjoyed going to see the Art and it made me feel that I am on the right track.

We love London. More later........................
