I`ve been wanting to paint Jerusalem for a long time and never gotten around to it. So here goes.....

Sorry its a bit out of focus. Just eager to get it posted. Its my favourite at the moment. Porthcurno where we go in the spring and Summer here in Cornwall .Just about the best beach in the County . Building it up slowly. 

Since I had my relapse a week ago and have been able to get better with the drugs they give me I have been working on a number of new paintings. I suppose being ill does wake you up a bit. Although I wasn`t able to paint for a few days. I still gotta do something. Cant just rest. Thats stupid..

Any way the time spent thinking about how to approach the work and what needs to be done.is also valuable. As I say these are works in progress. Its surprizing what can happen. The top painting of the Blossom was my first attemt and is coming along rather nicely layering the flowers with underpainting. 

The bottom one is very grey and white which is what I want for this. Very simple ,honest. palms? grass? Soon.........................

Well it must be good that I can see so many faults to work on. That means I am living with these longer and making them better images. I am pleased to have toned the reds down and there is good progression here

This is the route I take from my house in Penzance across the top road that few tourists go on to get to St Ives.. 

Two new paintings properly photographed. Now ready for Gallery.

Its always a mixture of excitement and sadness when my babes come back unsold. Excitement to see them again . I do love them . And sadness because no one wanted them.. On this occasion.! 

Its not easy taking photos of this as my camera wont take pictures with too much light. This is probably a better representation of this picture.But as you can see it`s coming on. 

A strange mixture for me at the moment. I`m doing my dark paintings which I love . I can see them easier. So when I revert to these colourful paintings with experimental planes it`s such a long jump to make. 

Going to keep at it .....

And this is how it starts. A little magic and . I can see this theme taking me somewhere.!

Day 2 on this 

While this is not one of my most Joy full pictures I just have to finish it because of the work. This dark theme has become a feature of my over all body of work. And its bloody great to paint these.. 

Not finished of course. The cat is too small and there is more in the tree to do . 

Nearly finished the top one. Very pleased as it has taken ages. The long thin one is of the road from here in Penzance to St Ives . Just started day 3 I think. A while to go yet.

I`m working and thats good............

Well .Its very difficult working indoors. Yes it`s warm but the light is dreadful. At least in my studio I have controlled the light and I know where I am. I can see what I am doing. persevering!!!!

I`ve moved indoors. I do this every year now it seems. Its just too cold and damp in my outdoor studio.

To get me started again after the long break I am doing a Marrakech painting just to get my eyes in and to get back to work. . In the Summer I have the 

International Naif Art Bienalle in Southern France so I need to haul myself up and get moving.
