This one goes out to Gallery in three weeks and I`m still not happy with it. So I have been tinkering again to get it so I can see it.

Tree of Life

This 16x16inch oil on canvas is due to go to Blackheath Gallery in London shortly. I find this Tree of Life theme endlessly interesting.

With my Alan Furneaux head on I am finishing off pieces to go to London. My studio looks nice with a few pieces I have collected over the Summer especially an Angus painting which I can see every time I walk in. As you know I don`t like to let anything go unless I am completely happy with it hence the extensive work on this one. The sea colour for example has been changed many times.and the buildings..well.. I `ve lost count of the changes.

Ok. So now that I have seperated the darker paintings from the lighter ones with two seperate identities I no longer need to post these paintings on this blog. Whoopee!! I here some people say. So here is a very early an Alan Furneaux to get us started again.....

Have been so busy with paperwork-and trying to work out where I am with my painting. Again I have been thinking I might have a pseudonym so I can keep on with this darker toned work. I can`t seem to marry the two moods, happy and melancholy. I am sure at some stage I will want to paint in cheerful colours, but not right now. Managed to make a start on this done from one of my sketches.

oil on paper set in a jet black frame.

The darker colours I finally realized give mood and an `inner` colour or space.

This is oil on paper. I am using paper because it is cheap and I can practice painting cats which aint easy.
This looks like the sinister looks I get from our `Izzy` when she wants food.
Not there yet but refusing to give in.
With a bit of luck it should lead to something nice.
