wesite

A part of being a self employed Artist is to have and maintain a website. My web is totally done by me but the software is old Frontpage 2000 so... I have enrolled on a course to help me understand Dreamweaver which is the latest up to date software for web making. At the end I hope to have a new website with an entirely new feel. It was a challenge to be in a school type environment with 9 other individuals on this web building course as I usually work alone but I really enjoyed it. It`s a ten week course .

a bit slow

The blog has been a bit dry recently because I have been recovering from my show and taking a break to see were to go next. Its clear that my studio work is what stands out from the crowd but I was down on the beach briefly today and it was mild enough to set up an easel and paint. Why shoudn`t I do both. Still chewing it over! What to do next. Emmmm!Am I ready to start again. Do I need more time... Emmmm Maybe I should just go in to the studio and start. Emmmm

David Curzon Show.

Had a really good show and took healthy first Day sales. The Gallery in the village of Wimbledon looked very modern and up to date and there was a good turn out. Alot of my buyers and collectors were thereand it was really good to see them again. The feedback I have is to stay with the strong colours typical of my work and although the plein air work is interesting it is a departure from typical `alan Furneaux`.I sold my two favoutite pictures in the show one of Newlyn and one Flower Painting.

The Alhambra

When I paint like this there is every reason to celebrate. ..I was in Granada just before I got ill 3 yrs ago . We were there for a week having driven up from Alicante. We checked in to a Hotel in the town and Lorraine and Sam went skiing for a couple of days in the Sierra Nevada and my daughter Alana and I spent two days doing watercolours around the Alhambra. It was great people would come up and watch us and we would buy lots of ice creams and eat Sardinas and pizza in the little Restaurants.Any way here is a painting taken memory of that occasion. This may be the last painting I do before my trip to London next Thursday for my show.

All done. Have to let this go now.

Flowers painting

Finished off this Flower painting for the London show. I`m going up next week. The previous version was a bit mucky so I`ve cleaned up the whites and added a deeper red to the vase . With the little hearts painted in in real life looks luuuuuuuvely. On second thoughts I`m gonna have to take the hearts out . It just doesn`t make sense. Maybe little beads of colour as though they are a screen.Emm!
