Floral painting
Just managed to squeeze some time in today to do some painting. I started really not knowing where I was going so as I went along I said to myself " keep going, keep going " I was only at the end that I thought, Ahh! It`s half decent this. It is good practice for me to have faith and keep going through the hole that you find yourself in when you don't know where you are going and you just have to finish.
I`ll now leave it until the morning and see what I think as I can already see it needs balancing on the right.

This is an oil of one of my Gouache sketches of Alderburgh. I am itching to get out and paint. I have a friend who has already been out for 3 hours and painted. He said his fingers were numb with cold. I can do flowers in the studio but I am fast running out of ideas .it is frustrating. I have painted some cracking studio paintings and generally, I feel like I am improving in oil, except when I drink too much coffee, then it`s all enthusiasm and no steady eye. Soon I hope to be out there.

Flowers for St Michaels
It is amazing how pictures can together when you are forced to continue. This one just needs something middle bottom, maybe a boat.I had about an hour and I said to myself I`m going to get this done now,it`s oil, It was sitting there half finished and quite different.I just forced a finish at the end of the day/week and without thinking too hard and hey presto.
