Newlyn

Started this Newlyn picture in the studio. Can't get out and paint so slowly chipping away with the radio on.

The good thing about inclement weather is that it gives me time to finish off all those unfinished paintings. This one isn`t finished but I have been at work on it today.

Marazion

All aboard for Seal Island.

Up at 7 and cool . By 10 the heat comes and the German tourists form an orderly line to the boat to seal island and the shade goes so by 11 am that`s it. Job done.

St Michaels Mount

Had the most brilliant day travelling around all the little lanes around Lands End Zennor and St Just before ending at Newlyn with my friend Russ Holland. Unfortunately, so here are some of the sketches we did.  the video we did not come out.

I did this one. 

Russ did this one which I think is really good and better in real life with all the little-abstracted dots and lines of colour. 

Godrevy Wave

Back at 8 am this morning. Started a bit grey which was actually great then it all changed fast and I had to keep up after nearly nodding off well not literally but shifting concentration. So woke myself up and drove on.

Studio version of Falmouth

And here is the studio version of Falmouth. It's always a bit rough and ready when your out there in the open air trying to get it all down before the light changes. When you get them in a controlled studio and the imagery is still fresh you can do a more accurate and planned way done in no hurry.

Post Op Pictures

I have been in Hospital to have some stones removed and again they like to pump me full of steroids just in case I have another relapse ( I had one two weeks ago ) while undergoing surgery. So I have come home and am shuffling around the house in Jim Jams working on some small oils. Here is one of Causeway Head and Newlyn Bridge.Both very dark in tone. 

Causeway Head

I went to Causeway Head today in Penzance and sat on a bench and painted this one. Looking forward to going back to this spot with my Gouache.

Cold and wet today so in Studio

Working on old unfinished studio painting today as it is cold and wet and nothing dries in this weather. Perfect weather for doing still life and finishing off stuff.
Found this little oil that needs TLC to get it through to the finals.

Newlyn Bridge

I went back to Newlyn Bridge today and did a Gouache. Then I came home and finished the other oils and acrylic versions. I will go back tomorrow and try again in Gouache. as it has been some time since OI used them and I want to get back in that spontaneous flow again. It just takes time. Feeling a bit bogged down and need some light touches with the gouache.
