I`m trying to paint  as though I was back in the studio with my oils so when I get in there I know what to do. It ain't easy. Old habits die hard. Gathering information as I go. Trying to understand how to do it.

Fish and Chips at St Michaels

This is a little oil painting from the gouache sketch i did. I have to wait for it to dry a little now .It`s very cute and simple which i love. Not wanting to give up on my plein air paintings in oil after having been so mauled by recent experiences.

Penzance Harbour

Got a nice one done this morning. Sunday..My legs are feeling quite strong at the moment I I thought you know what I reckon I could walk down there rather than take the care so I ambled slowly down to the harbour stopping every now and then for a breather and a sit down and sat there in the glorious morning Cornish sunshine. I then got a coffee in the cafe and walked home. Blinking brilliant.... Long may it last Curruthers!!!!

Managed to grab some time this afternoon to go to St Michaels and who was there 20 yds away . Ken Howard. I said a brief hello because I know what it`s like when your painting. Hopefully he recognised me from Dinner at his the other night but I couldn`t be sure. I expect he gets a lot of people come for dinner.

No I`m not bonkers .This is called play.........the real mother of invention .........if you don`t play  you don`t see new things......and what a super start. I`m off to Brighton for a few days to deliver some work and also to do some plein air work of the Downs and have just squeezed a bit of painting time in before I go. I`ll have this to look forward to when I get back and it`ll be nice and dry.

Porthminster Beach

I am re working the dreadful experience I had with my plein air paintings that just din`t work out. Not the Gouache there good,but the paintings. Re doing them with more play and memory.AND in oil not in acrylic.

Penzance abstracted

This one has a totall;y different colouration. It`s an abstracted interpretation of Penzance. Light greys  yellows and oranges with sky blues and whites. 3 days into this
