Penzance Harbour. November

On Smeatons Pier St Ives again.

Went out today for the first time in a while and did this. So really pleased I have managed to get out even in this weather,well I was in the car..

Started to paint from my sketches of St Ives.

Ok I`m done .Just a minor adjustment on the Chain and Ill call that a day.

Penberth. 

It`s now time to make a painting of all the sketches I`ve done in gouache and Ive started this today.As you can see it`s very hard for me to loose my Naive eyes.

Its always the same when you have issues going on at home it`s difficult to work. Just couldn't`t finish this. 

Been to Penberth this morning. Different time of day to the last one which was pm.

Went back to Penberth today with a view to doing a painting. Its great to be back drawing again after a long break. 

Bee working on a second Barbican painting. This one has a different boat in the middle.The last one was a fishing boat that was out at sea and this one snuc in it`s place. 

It`s going ok! 

Plymouth Pool and Barbican.

Day 1. Really enjoying this. As I`m painting I am realizing what I didn`t capture when I was there in the flesh and what information is necessary and what isn`t. Mostly detail like the colour of the top of the side rails,just detail detail detail.   so it`s all a great learning curve.

Day 2

Very much enjoyed doing this.One thing I notice is that I may need to change my brushes from flats to rounds as my style has changed.

Got stuck straight in with this first picture in the studio.

While I havn`t abandoned my Naive style I am moving on as all artists do to revitalise and refresh. 

I am for the time moving away from Naive whilst keeping the flavour .

I love my Naive work ..But not now...

Russ Holland Drawing and Painting  on the Hoe

Went to Plymouth again only this time with Russ to get some drawing studies done.Had such a good day. Weather perfect.
