Day 3.
With fresh eyes I have been able to untangle the mess.Its oil so wet and glossy and translucent.
Leanardo would use dark colours and mixed lighter shades over time to give areas depth. Think I`ll try that.

Decided to make some real changes to this image and loose the Fisherman.Interesting to see what happens on the far left which is a veranda with a chair.. What do I do with this??

It probably looks like I havn`t done much. Well I haven`t Ive been painting the house but it is coming along nicely and it has that gorgous look being oil.

Going to develop this over a couple of weeks . Its oil on board and a bit smaller than my usual blocky pics at 20x18 inches.

At last something new and interesting has arrived after the last picture that took so long. Very excited about the simplicity and look of the oil on the board. It good to look at.

I had this one come back from gallery. The feedback is that the sky is too strong so I have toned it down a bit.

Well I have found a home for it. Its going to Market House Gallery in Penzance. later in the week.

I`ve now gone into it with oil to give it lustre and volume. Not done yet.

Sometimes working on an image for so long is the kiss of death. But to be frank I just haven`t been happy with it. I`m still not . But I am making progress. I love the Red sail and the buildings above it with the cloud. Wondering if it`s OK to have a cat on a boat. The fisherman needs more definition and the fish in the buckets might be too much. Maybe just a quite space there . I changed the black sea to blue as it was just to gloomy. I love black and I love painting with it but it has not life, you have to be sparing with it. .

Changing as I go along. Might need to change the direction of the fish and the cats too small and the the list goes on..

Its getting a little better every time . I can see this is going to take a few more days.

End of day two. Still like the idea of another fisherman and also them playing Chess or something different.. It needs Narrative I think.

OOH I am enjoying this.  I might have to add another fisherman or give them something to do like play chess or cook fish or something. Or put a pin up on the bridge. not their yet. though.
