Firstly thankyou to every one that has bothered to take the time to make a comment. I know we are all very busy...
Another day on this. There are so many interlocking shapes and colours that it is a battle to tame it. For the eye to to go from one passage to another in a natural way takes time to construct
. Sometimes I take out whole areas that dont work and try something different untill it does and often the picture takes shape from just a tiny piece that works perfectly.

I love Penzance on a Saturday. Everyone is out and about and being such a small town ( with small town gossip) you meet lots of people you know. It really is friendly place to live. I like to get my Coffee there at the Deli.
Illy is my favourite brand.
Getting closer to finishing. One or two more sittings hopefully.

Penzance. Stage 1. oil on canvas
When I had my first Exhibition in London many years ago I was painting 3 paintings a week. I had too to keep up with the demand. I would often get up at 6 in the morning to start work before everyone else came down for breakfast. I probably do 1 good one week now.
What I learnt from this intense activity is that it pays to chip away or start paintings behind the scenes, especially the ones that prove difficult. I started a new oil with this in mind today about half past four. I was going to work till 5 today but that half an hour can be Golden.
This is an old canvas that i have gone over and this is the start.

3 Days into this and I now have Studio Stupa. I really cant see the wood from the tree`s. There are passages that I love but I need to get some time between me and it to see with fresh eyes. I love the finished results of these but they really are hard work. In some ways you really can say this is a true. Gestalt. A beginning a middle and an end and a lots of stuff inbetween all having been hard won.
