I thought I would like to work this theme of Salsa dancing and practice more. The problem I have at the moment is blending skin tone in acrylic which I havn`t cracked yet. Also I would like to put more detail in . So I`ll need to practice a lot with drawing compositions rather than go direct on to the canvas and some sketching in the Salsa clubs to go more of an understanding . .

Thanks Phil for your comments.
These pics have been taken in the studio so the colour is slightly different than if taken outside.
Detail . I am working on figures making the girls look girlier and getting some light and shade in the skin. While keeping it Naive.
Went to Germans Cuban Salsa class last night. Fantastic so I will put German in the middle and call it Germans Rueda. thats said `Herman` as the G is an H in Spanish i believe.

The Montipulchiano painting is coming along nicely but it is hard work. Apart from the size and the damp conditions ( drying time) it`s very stressful having to manage and make work such a big image. .
One of my favourite painters is a Scottish painter called David Donaldson who also made his paintings directly on to the canvas without sketches etc. It works for me because it does but as I say it`s hard work. It is very rough and the paintwork needs completing especially with the still life. This might be a problem as fresh paint always looks brighter so I have to be careful.I have to go and get some more paint now .It needs to sit and be cleaned up .But I think the basic picture is there. So no more madness.!! It isn`t finished and you know how I like to change things if it calls to me. So...

Started two new paintings today. A new huge 40x40inch Montipulchiano and one of Padstow a little smaller. The Padstow one am doing because I did a similar painting in the Summer and went over it . After seeing it on my computer many times I realized it was a good image .So I am doing it again .I hope I don`t come to the same conclusion as before.

Lorraine and I got all dressed up to go to the Boogaloo Latin Ball at the Union Pub in Penzance. We started at the Turkes Head .Everyone was dressed up in different custumes and it was brilliant.Lots of happy faces and some not so. We danced till 1 am. We left all our troubles at the door and let our hair down!!
