The Road from Penzance to St Ives

Oil on Board 30 x 75 cm

So Pleased with this.....................Fresh,    lively, unashamebly colourfull. These are the correct colours by the way. the previous image taken on my home camera was a bit dark. this has been done by Simon Cook on his mega Nikon

Got two lovey still lifes. The top one I`ve been working on today and isn`t finished because the plate at the bottom left doesn`t look right so I`l change that but I`m a bit pooped so will have a go tomorrow. The Bottom one is something I found at the back of the studio I had forgoton about and picked it up and went oh! wow... and I finished it.

So what happened ?. I started a new one because the last was oil and had a weird perspective . This is acrylic . Its brighter in colour. and I have been able to work fast. Both great qualities of acrylic . Just got to sort out a couple of things and add some DETAIL .

Very Nice.

I have  been out drawing and come back with some new ideas.

My drawing skills are a bit rusty so I`ll enjoy getting that back. ..

This is a start of  the walk into Porthminster Beach from the top road and the town of  St Ives. 

I recently had been asked by a Local Gallery if I had any work that was iether a return or had been sentenced to the Salerooms or I just wanted to let go of as they had a London dealer coming down looking for cheap deals.

I rumaged around the dark recesses of my studio and found a number of things among them this super drawing I did of Leonora Lovebottom on Pedne Vounder Beach which is the local nudist beach.

Wow! This is going to be framed and put back on my wall .  I love it. 

Started this in oil and the reason I have done this is that I can get more detaiand refinement with oil as the molecules are smaller. Lets just see where it goes. 

Sold.. with two other paintings today.

Not sure what the other two are yet but  this was one of my best paintings to date so glad that someone has noticed this and put there hand in there pocket to buy it. 

Been literally waiting for paint to dry as I have a couple of oils on the go using the same subject matter .

And while I have been waiting here is a short video of mmmaa playing the guitar .

I`m using a Looper which allows me on the fly to record as I go along.

Well it has been a bumpy ride. Have lots of new work to show and here are a few. The website and my emaiil have all been affected by a spate of problems .All out of my hands . 

Been working on this for a couple of days now after a walk to St Ives.

Going back into acrylics is great but it is very bright and one of the reasons I left acrylic painting was because of that intense colour. Its taking a bit of time to get used to. again but again highly enjoyable and spontaneous.
