When I was a young boy of 13, I would tear up my mums unwanted sheets to make canvas and paint Terry Frosts. Semi Circles of colour on white etc. He was my first big influence and with young eyes I was in love with his use of pure bold colour. The way colour responded to the colour next to it was intoxicating and set me on a path to become an artist.
Recently I have been putting some of my work straight into auction .
And here is the last piece. Inspired by Mr and Mrs Irving who recently commissioned me to do a Pool Painting and guess who I am next to .................... the late great Sir Terry Frost.
Thanks Terry

I`ve noticed that there is still a bit of a snobbery about OIL. `It has to be oil.` ` Oh! You really should paint in oil` Well after many years painting in both mediums I can tell you that it is just that. `Snobbery`. They are both fantastic mediums and both rather different. I love acrylic because of the crisp colours and speed of drying and oil because of it`s rich visably pleasing appearance on the canvas. It`s good painting in both. I can switch from one to the other. And I can tell you Acrylic just surprizes me all the time and stands up proud against it`s old time rival.
