Work in progress today.I get mixed reactions from Drab to ``like that".

Hello! Ive been away in London and the Isle of White. Had a lovely break.
Went to London with my daughter Alana to see the RA and to Desiguil our favourite Brand in Regent street to buy stuff.

Firstly what a joy to go with my 13ry old bright articulate daughter. And how wonderful that I made it in one piece.
I really enjoyed going to see the Art and it made me feel that I am on the right track.

We love London. More later........................

day 3. This is a picture of The Lloyds Building in Penzance. I think it used to be the Corn Exchange in the past. It is a very ominous looking building.

Well. I said I can see something. But it just looks dark. Struggling but persevering. I want moody and dark but I also want warmth and connection. How do you do that ???   Working it out slowly I hope.Started another in oil in case it is the medium.

It may look pretty grim at ther moment but I can see real potential. I am doing something I dont usually do. I`m not using the mirror to cross check and painting from how I feel and how I see it from my mind now.

I try not to just show the good ones. Monday and it`s rain and damp here in Penzance.

My beautiful painting is coming back from the Ra today. I`ll have it on my wall for a couple of days and then pack it off to London to grace someone elses wall. These are the best of my work and take a long time ( for me) to do. Everything is double checked and checked again and again for balence..

I`ve done this one again because the last one I did I used too much driers and it darkened . This one should be fine. I have been far more carefull and learn`t a valuable lesson.

Still working on the Cat, but this is it so far.

The tree painting is coming on. I`m working in oils now not acrylic. So they take a lot longer to do. I started the tree because it was a safe subject for me to do while I was going through a little block and just working has inspired me and I can feel the juices coming back. Painting the cat is difficult. I am much happier in acrylic but there are somethings acrylic can`t do well. Skin tones in one of them and Cats another.

Sold three paintings last week so very happy.

Been working on this Newlyn Girl. I`ll be sticking with this subject for a while.

Still. Stuck..To compound things my two pictures at the Auctioneers WH Lane did not reach their reserve so no sale. Although I have sold a small nude at Market House Gallery in Marazion.
I can feel my alter ego `George` knocking on the door!

Ive had a block for the last couple of weeks and just cant seem to get excited about anything . This should not happen as I have to earn a living.   Yet it has. The great subconscious is telling me something. So today I just tinkered and put paint on the canvas and enjoyed some cool greys and yellows. I really do feel slightly lost.
